Changes to Vaping Regulations

What It Means for You — and for Us at Hawke’s Bay Vapour

From June 17th, 2025, new government regulations will come into effect that change how vaping products can be sold, marketed, and displayed across New Zealand. These changes aim to reduce youth vaping, but they also have significant impacts for responsible adult vapers — and for specialist retailers like us.

At Hawke’s Bay Vapour, we’ve always prioritised responsible service, expert advice, and a quality range of products — and we’ll continue to do that. But we want to make sure you’re fully informed about what’s coming.

👀 No More Product Images or External Displays
Soon, product images will no longer appear on websites, and general retailers won’t be allowed to display vape gear at all.
Specialist stores like ours can still display products inside the store — but nothing will be visible from the outside. If things seem a little less visual online, this is why.

🏷️ No More Discounts, Loyalty Rewards, or Giveaways
Sadly, the new rules also mean an end to loyalty programmes and promotional offers.
Our rewards system will be discontinued — so please make sure to redeem any rewards cards by 16th of June, 2025. 

We’re disappointed by the changes, but we’re committed to continuing to deliver value where we can — through excellent service, expert product knowledge, and one of New Zealand’s strongest vape ranges. 🚫 Disposable Vapes Are Being Phased Out

Single-use devices that can’t be recharged or refilled will no longer be allowed for sale.
If you currently use disposables, we recommend switching to a compliant refillable option such as the puk. device — easy to use, long-lasting, and available in a wide flavour range.
